OPERATION AUSSIES HOME Inc
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
(Approved 23 March 2006)

Aim:

To take all necessary and lawful action to achieve full and definitive accounting1 for the six Australian servicemen who either became missing in action or were killed in action and whose bodies were not recovered during the Viet Nam War 1962 - 1975 or subsequently.


Objectives:

  1. To research and investigate the cases of these six men including the actual loss incidents and the events that may have affected the disposition of the remains of each and all of these men during the intervening years, including field investigations where necessary.

  2. To represent the interests of the families of these men in dealings with the Australian government and its agencies where such representation is requested by respective family members on a case-by-case basis.

  3. To represent the interests of the families of these men in dealings with relevant agencies from other countries, such as but not limited to, the United States Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, where such representation is requested by respective family members on a case by case basis.

Additional Interests of OPERATION AUSSIES HOME Inc:

Subject to the availability of resources, OPERATION AUSSIES HOME Inc may investigate the cases of civilian and service personnel who became missing or were killed and whose bodies were not recovered during conflicts in which Australian forces were involved, in addition to the six cases referred to above. Persons other than Australian citizens may be the subjects of such additional investigations.
