Investigation in November 2005
This investigation in November 2005 cost approximately $15,000 all up and was funded mainly
by participating individuals.
Grants and Donations
Since then we have received a number of donations from service related organisations,
the government and private citizens, the largest of which was a donation of $40,000 from
Mr Paul Darrouzet of Queensland, in April 2006.
The Hon. Mr Bruce Billson, MP offered a grant of $37,500 in May 2006 to investigate the cases of
Parker and Gillson. This grant was accepted by OAH. The government contributed a further $20,272 - long story - towards
the Parker and Gillson cases and $4,728 towards the Gillespie case in March 2007.
I should also point out that the government met all costs for Vietnamese staff support and labour in
connection with the successful OAH in-country work in March - April 2007.
OAH is very appreciative of the support that has been provided.
Future Activities
We have to bear in mind that there are four other cases from Viet Nam as well as the other
investigations that we are assisting with, not to mention the on-going costs of running the Association.
Therefore every dollar counts.
