THE PRIMARY AIM OF OPERATION AUSSIES HOME IS TO FULLY ACCOUNT FOR THOSE
AUSTRALIAN SERVICEMEN WHO WERE EITHER KILLED IN ACTION OR WENT MISSING IN ACTION,
PRESUMED DEAD, AND WHOSE BODIES WERE NOT RECOVERED DURING THE VIETNAM WAR 1962 TO 1972
OR SUBSEQUENTLY.
After In Country Investigation starting in November 2005 and May 2006, a successful
operation was mounted by OPERATION AUSSIES HOME INC (OAH) in April 2007 and the burial sites of Parker and Gillson were
found.
With the assistance of a team from the Australian government, the remains of these two men were recovered
and repatriated to Australia. Parker was buried in Canberra at the Woden Cemetery on 12 June 2007 and Gillson was buried in Melbourne
at the John Fawkner Cemetery on 15 June 2007 - after almost 42 years after they were lost. May they rest in peace.
